About Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools
Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools (GTACS) has been providing the gift of Catholic education to children in grades preschool through twelfth in the Grand Traverse region for over 120 years. The school system is comprised of four distinct schools that are separated by grade level but united by a common mission. One of the vital components of our schools is the active support received from the five area Catholic parishes: Christ the King, Immaculate Conception, Saint Francis, Saint Patrick and Saint Joseph. During its more than a century of growth, the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools has evolved to include an award-winning system that encompasses over 1,100 students. GTACS has been recognized on both the state and national levels. In the last decade, the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools has received accolades for academic excellence including recognition from the Michigan Partnership for Education Awards and the U.S. Department of Education.
GTACS offers a unique and comprehensive educational experience to the entire student population. The difference a student will see at GTACS is echoed in a quote one of our middle school students wrote in a letter to the editor of the local newspaper:“What makes a Catholic school different from other schools? Prayer, responsibility, honesty, character, commitment and compassion. Not to mention the great teachers and family involvement.” Free Information Packet
